The Origins of Cinema

One of the interesting things about Lyon is that the first movie ever made was shot five minutes away from where I live.  La Sortie de l’Usine Lumière (Workers Leaving the Lumière Factory) was filmed on March 19, 1895.

In honor of the 120th anniversary of the event, the Institute Lumière decided to shoot various remakes on Thursday, March 19th.  Theo, Ella, and I (plus a special guest) appear at the 34-second mark.  You can compare the original and the remake below.
