>A Disappointing Show :-(

June 12, 2008

>Some friends and I went to see The Police the other night in St. Etienne. It was concert I’ve been waiting to see for awhile. Unfortunately, it wasn’t as good as it should have been. The ticket stated that the concert would start at 20h30 with the Charlatans opening up. We showed up around 20h45 (plenty of time before the “real” band comes on). However, The Police were already playing! They took the stage at 20h15, apparently due to the weather. To add insult to injury, they played for a mere 1h35.

Here is the set-list. The ones in italics are the songs we missed:

Message In A Bottle
Walking On The Moon
Demolition Man
Voices Inside My Head
When The World Is Running Down
Don’t Stand So Close To Me
Driven To Tears
Hole In My Life

Every Little Thing She Does Is Magic
Wrapped Around Your Finger
De Do Do Do, De Da Da Da
Invisible Sun
Can’t Stand Losing You
Roxanne
King Of Pain
So Lonely
Every Breath You Take
Next To You

I’m still bummed and pissed! Sting, Stewart and Andy owe me music…or money!

>Another Visit

May 13, 2008

>Gran and Granddad came for another visit and had a great time playing with Theo. We spent most of our time on the Mediterranean relaxing under the sun, visiting Cannes and St. Tropez in the process. The weather was perfect and the company was better.

As always, it was hard to see them leave. However, their visit is immortalised in the train set they gave Theo, which he plays with on a constant basis.

>The Lyon 10k

April 27, 2008

>Anne-Laure and I ran our first 10k together today. The registration was part of AL’s birthday present (she had said several times that she wanted to try one). Our time wasn’t bad clocking in at 1h7.

We had a great time along with the other 5,000+ who decided to join us on a bright, sunny lyonnais morning.

Now on to the next race…

>There is nothing quite as much fun as building a fort with your son on a dreary Sunday afternoon. Just remember not to step in the lava upon exiting 🙂
