Duncan Soup – A Dish of Duncan Discourse

>Well, it’s been awhile since I’ve updated the site. This fall has been extremly busy with me having been on the road for a month and Anne-Laure currently in China finishing her research. During her absence, Gran came over for a few days to help take care of Theo (a.k.a. Monkey Boy).

For Halloween, the American Club of Lyon held an early trick-or-treating session. About 25 kids participated and Theo had a blast once he understood the concept.

I still have several photos from this summer that I need to post (Tunisia, the Alps, the Mediterranean, etc). I promise to do it soon.

>D.P. Rabalais, a good friend of ours from our UT days, came to visit last weekend. He originally was to arrive Friday evening, but due to the fiasco at Heathrow, he didn’t arrive until Saturday morning.

We spent our time shopping (his baggage decided to spend more time in London), eating (a bit), drinking (a lot) and talking (too late).

Theo had a wonderful time playing with “P.P.” as we hiked through the Alps on Sunday.

>Theo’s day care went on a field trip to the farm a couple of weeks ago. The 19 kids and equal number of parents enjoyed feeding the cows, chasing the chickens and rubbing the rabbits.

The day didn’t start off well after Theo got sick on the bus (and on me), but everything changed once we arrived.

>Jimmy Buffett played the New Morning Club in Paris Friday night. The show was AMAZING!!! Best Buffett concert I’ve ever seen. There were only about 200 people there and the venue was small and cozy. You could tell Jimmy was having a blast and he took the time to greet fans and sign autographs after the show (including for yours truly).
