>A Passage to India

December 15, 2006

>I just returned from a business trip to India. The voyage was productive and I did have time to wander the various sites that the subcontinent has to offer. Though the majority of its population lives in extreme poverty, India’s citizens are hospitable and very willing to help you explore their homeland.

OK, I know I’ve been slack about updating the site (n’est ce pas, Nath?). I promise to be more rigid about doing postings. In the meantime, enjoy this picture of the “King of the Jungle” on Pumpkin Day.

>The Great Mushroom Hunt of ’06

October 13, 2006

>
My sister and brother-in-law were visiting us for the past week. We did many things including exploring Lyon, hiking in the Alps and, of course, experiencing “la bonne cuisine française” to our heart’s content.

One of the most interesting things we did was mushroom hunting in the Haute-Loire region of France. After scavenging the woods for the afternoon, we gathered 12 pounds of Cèpes de Bordeaux (Boletus Edulis). Everything was eaten within two days.

Though it is always great to spend time with my sister, the highlight has to be spending “quality” time with Jeff. Since we have all lived apart after he and Monica were married, I never realized that Jeff has just as sick and demented sense of humor as I do.
