It was so hot yesterday that Theo enjoyed a mini Magnum popsicle at lunch. As you can see, his eyes were apparently bigger than his stomach.

Anne-Laure and I went to see Neil Young the other night. We arrived early, so we were able to be really close to the stage (there was only a handful of people in front of us). Neil was in a mood to jam, so the show was LOUD. Unfortunately, he didn’t play as many acoustic numbers (which is what we wanted to hear).
There were a couple of Spinal Tapesque moments though: First, Neil fell on stage and knocked over a speaker after his guitar chord got caught, but he kept on playing. Then at the end of the show, his
guitar strings broke and he began waving it around creating a rather cool humming sound.
Here’s the set list:
Mr. Soul / I’ve Been Waiting For You / Spirit Road / Love And Only Love / Hey Hey, My My / Too Far Gone / Oh, Lonesome Me / Mother Earth / The Needle And The Damage Done / Unknown Legend / Old Man / Words / Get Back To The Country / No Hidden Path // A Day In The Life.
This one goes to 11…

Anne-Laure and I attended a party this weekend where the theme was “Les Grands Invasions” (the period when Europe was constantly being invaded during the 4th and 5th centuries). However, we decided to be a little more creative: I dressed as Ronald McDonald (the invasion of fast food into French Culture) and Anne-Laure as José Bové (the French farmer – and somewhat of a cult hero – that was jailed for destroying several McDonald’s by tractor or torch).
We were a hit!

June 16, 2008>Jimmy Buffett just released “Scenes You Know by Heart,” a DVD of his greatest hits filmed at various concerts from across the globe. “He went to Paris” is from the show I attended in the City of Light last summer and you actually see me quite a bit. You can download the video by clicking HERE (10 mg).
