After dinner, Theo and Ella always get a treat to indulge their Franco-American appetite.  First is the cheese (to meet the French craving), followed by the chocolate (to please the American need).  They decided to move to the kitchen in a different fashion last night.

The End of the Season

For after-school sports this year, Theo did basketball and judo.  Last week was the final practice for basketball and the last competition for judo.  He excelled at both, earning a place on next year’s team and winning a gold medal in his division.

As you’ll see in the basketball video, dribbling is optional and defense is almost nonexistent. That’s what happens when six-year-old boys play…or the Charlotte Bobcats.


RUH ROH, RHAGGY!

Theo had his belated birthday party on Saturday.  Scooby Doo was the theme and the 10 kids enjoyed solving mysteries, eating Scooby Snacks and playing games.  Theo loved his presents and the cake was a hit.   The party reached a tipping point when the Mummy Game ran amok (see the video below) and the festivities were moved outside.  Fortunately, the only thing cracked was our neighbors’ sanity.

Five-month-old Ella started solid food last week.  Her first menu consisted of pureed pears, and after a little trial and error, she found that she loved the sweetness of the fruit.  She moved to root vegetables the next day and has yet to stop eating.  The beet goes on…
