Rock in an Odd Place

April 15, 2014

Montpellier is the host of this Weekly Special.  I was walking through the Square Planchon when  I snapped this picture.  The rock in the center of the pool has been overtaken by nature to create this “champignon de mousse” (moss mushroom).  It is impressive in color, but I found more disturbing in BW.

A Bridge Not Too Far

April 9, 2014

This Weekly Special comes from our trip to the South of France last summer.  After Theo & I attended the Green Day concert in Nîmes, Anne-Laure and Ella took the train to meet us.   We spent part of the day at Pont du Gard.

Pont du Gard is an ancient aqueduct bridge crossing the Gardon River that was built by the Romans in the 1st century AD.  It is part of the 50-km long (31 miles) aqueduct system that stretched from the natural springs in Uzès to the Roman colony in Nîmes.  Today, it is UNESCO World Heritage Site and a fun park to visit with your family.

Piano in the Park

March 31, 2014

This Weekly Special is from a park around the corner from where I live.  Last summer, someone put a piano in a shaded area of the grass for all to enjoy.  I snapped this photo before tickling out a rockin’ version of “Chopsticks”.

Ella on the Attack

March 14, 2014

Ella had her first ski class last week and here is the result.  Not too shabby for someone that isn’t big enough to enjoy most of the rides at Disney.
